RedMagic has announced its latest gaming flagship smartphones RedMagic 9 Pro and RedMagic 9 Pro+ in China. These phones come with a 6.8-inch Full HD+ OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, up to 24GB RAM, 50+50 MP dual camera, 16MP selfie camera, and 5G. These phones mainly differ in RAM and storage configuration and battery capacities.
RedMagic 9 Pro and RedMagic 9 Pro+ feature the same 6.8-inch Full HD+ OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and up to 960Hz touch sampling rate. The display panel has a 10-bit color depth, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 21600Hz PWM dimming, and up to 1600 nits brightness.
The phone packs an Octa Core Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 4nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 750 GPU. RedMagic 9 Pro comes in 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, and 12GB+512GB models. RedMagic 9 Pro+ is offered in 16GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 24GB + 1TB models. The phone has added an upgraded ICE 13 cooling system with a 22,000 rpm built-in cooling fan. It has shark-fin blades that operate almost silently at just 4D. RedMagic has also added 10182mm² VC that increases heat dissipation and temperatures to lower up to 18°C. The CUBE energy engine is scheduled through EVS, Power freezing, and super-competitive technologies for high energy and low consumption. This results in high frame rates while gaming.
These gaming phones have a built-in independent gaming chip ‘Red Core R2 Pro’ for improving shoulder keys, defining game lighting effects, better sound effects, and enhanced vibrations The shoulder triggers have a 520Hz touch sampling rate. The sensitivity of shoulder triggers has also been increased by 20%.
The rear camera setup includes 50-megapixel primary camera with Samsung GN5 sensor and 50 megapixels 120-degree ultra-wide camera with a Samsung JN1 sensor. For selfies, the phone features a 16 megapixels under-display front-facing camera.
RedMagic 9 Pro and RedMagic 9 Pro+ have Magic Sound stereo dual speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and 3 mic setup for gaming. There is an in-display fingerprint sensor. Connectivity options include 5G NSA /SA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E 802.11 ax, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS (L1/L5)+ GLONASS, USB Type-C, and NFC.
These phones feature aviation-grade aluminum frames and completely flat glass back panels. There is also no camera bump that makes the phone look even better.
RedMagic 9 Pro packs a 6500mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. It can charge the phone up to 100% in 35 minutes. The Red Magic 9 Pro+ has a 5500mAh battery with 165W charging. It can charge up to 100% in 16 minutes.
RedMagic 9 Pro Dark Knight variant starts at 4,399 yuan and Deuterium Front Transparent Dark Night/Silver Wing models start at 4,999 yuan. The RedMagic Pro+ starts at 5,499 yuan for the Dark Knight variant and Deuterium Front Transparent Dark Night/Silver Wing starts at 5,699 yuan.
The international version of RedMagic 9 Pro will be announced on December 18.
