Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro, a special edition phone that pays homage to the SGH-E700, a classic flip phone released two decades ago in 2003. This throwback design, reminiscent of Samsung’s first device featuring a built-in antenna, is scheduled to launch on November 1 in Korea, followed by releases in the U.K., Germany, Spain, and Australia on November 2, and in France as well.

The Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro takes inspiration from the SGH-E700, a device that captivated users with its exceptional design and performance in 2003. At the time of its release, the SGH-E700 marked a significant milestone for Samsung as it was their pioneering phone to integrate a built-in antenna. This groundbreaking feature, combined with the phone’s widespread popularity, played a crucial role in advancing Samsung’s position within the mobile phone industry.

The Flip5 Retro showcases the same iconic indigo blue and silver colors as the E700, featuring nostalgic pixel graphics UI tweaks and a cityscape animation on its Flex Window cover screen.

Samsung packages the phone in a sleek box adorned with logos representing both the Z Flip5 and the E700, alongside Flipsuit cards containing stickers featuring various Samsung logos from past eras. Additionally, each package includes a collector’s card for the Samsung E700, engraved with a unique serial number.

The Galaxy Z Flip5 Retro will be available in limited quantities starting from November 1 in South Korea, followed by releases in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, and Australia on November 2. Interested consumers in these markets can exclusively purchase the limited edition device through Samsung’s official website. Specific pricing details have not been disclosed yet.
