Amazon introduces Prime Shopping subscription at Rs. 399 per year

Amazon has launched a new membership plan for people who frequently shop on Amazon. The company calls it Prime Shopping Edition. It is designed for Android users and costs Rs. 399 a year.

Amazon Prime Shopping Edition membership only provides shopping-related benefits. You won’t get other services like Prime Video, music, reading, or gaming that Amazon offers with regular Prime membership.

This new membership is only for Android users. Along with Amazon’s Android app, it also supports web browsers on Android. India has more than 650 million smartphone users and more than 85% of users are using Android devices.

We are not sure if this membership is only for this festive season sale or will be available even after the festive season. Amazon has basically launched it to compete against Flipkart’s VIP subscription that offers customers additional privileges.
