Elon Musk-owned X is planning to shut down Circles, a feature very few people use. Circles feature lets users share posts with a limited group of people instead of all followers. Circles feature will be disabled on October 31.

After the mentioned date, users will not be able to create a new post for a limited number of people you added to your Circle.

“X is deprecating Circles as of Oct 31st, 2023. After this date, you will not be able to create new posts that are limited to your Circle, nor will you be able to add people to your Circle,” X mentioned this on the Help Center page.

X didn’t confirm any reason why it decided to shut down the feature.

Circles was introduced back in August 2022 but also had a few glitches. Circles aim to let users post for a limited audience. But a bug in the feature also made posts public in place of making them private for the Circle. The company later fixed this feature. After Elon Musk took over the platform, he planned several changes and addition of new features. We have seen a lot of new changes in the platform in recent months. Musk also changed the name of the platform from Twitter to X.
