Mera has now officially launched its latest mixed reality headset Meta Quest 3. It is slimmer than its predecessor and comes with several improvements.

Meta Quest 3 has a Pancake lens design that has a 40% slimmer optical profile compared to Quest 2. Quest 3 offers 2208 x 2064 px displays with a 90Hz refresh rate and 120hz experimental mode. It also promises a 110° horizontal and 96° vertical field of view.

The headset packs Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset and 8GB DRAM. It promises to offer double the graphics processing power compared to Quest 2. Quest 3 also has two RGB color cameras and a depth projector.

The mixed-reality headset also has integrated 3D spatial audio speakers. It also features a customizable head strap and Touch Plus controllers with TruTouch haptics. The headset also comes with hand tracking with four IR cameras.

Meta promises 2.2 hours on average of battery life and it takes 2.3 hours to fully charge with the given charger.

Meta Quest 3 is priced at $499.44 for the 128GB model and $649.99 for the 512GB model. Pre-orders start today and open sales will begin on October 10.
