Lenovo Legion 9i is Lenovo’s first 16-inch gaming laptop

At IFA 2023, Lenovo introduced its first 16-inch gaming laptop under the Legion brand. The laptop is called Lenovo Legion 9i and is the flagship gaming laptop. It packs a 13th-gen Intel Core i9 processor, up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, and 64GB DDR5 RAM. It is also the first Legion laptop with an integrated liquid-cooling system.

Lenovo Legion 9i features a 16-inch 3.2K (3,200 x 2,000) mini LED display with a 165 Hz refresh rate and 3 ms GtoG response time. The laptop also has 100% DCI-P3/Adobe RGB color gamut coverage. It also includes VESA DisplayHDR, Dolby Vision, and Nvidia G-Sync certifications.

The laptop packs an Intel Core i9-13980HX coupled with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090. It comes with 32 GB of DDR5 6,400 MT/s or 64 GB of DDR5 5,800 MT/s RAM. Legion 9i also has 2 TB NVMe SSD storage. Lenovo has also partnered with Cooler Master to design a new cooling system for the laptop. The company calls it Coldfront which uses a metric ton of pipes to expel hot air from above the keyboard. There are also several vents.

Connectivity options include Thunderbolt 4.0 ports, one USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C port, one USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A port, an RJ45 Ethernet jack, an HDMI 2.1 port, and an SD card reader. It also supports Wi-Fi 7, which makes it the first gaming laptop with Wi-Fi 7. It also has Bluetooth 5.3. Both Thunderbolt ports support display output.

It has a 1080p webcam with a physical privacy shutter, an RGB keyboard, and a trackpad. The laptop lacks Lenovo’s own LA2 AI chip that syncs with the keyboard RGB. The keyboard has 1.5mm key travel, 100% anti-ghosting, and swappable ceramic key caps for customization.

Lenovo Legion 9i packs a 99.99Whr battery that supports charging via a 330W Slim Adapter or the 140W Type-C Power adapter.

Lenovo Legion 9i will be available in October 2023 with a starting price of €4,499.
