Apple has finally introduced the iPhone 15 series which includes iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Apple has finally ditched the Lightning port for USB Type C.
A noticeable feature of the iPhone 15 is the support for reverse charging. You can charge AirPods Pro 2 and Apple Watch using USB-C to USB-C cable. You need to AirPods Pro 2 USB-C Charging Case or a USB-C Apple Watch charging puck for charging these devices. You only need to plug one end of the USB-C to USB-C cable in the iPhone and the other end to the USB-C charging case of AirPods for charging AirPods.
On the official page of iPhone 15, Apple says, “The new USB-C connector lets you charge your Mac or iPad with the same cable you use to charge iPhone 15. You can even use iPhone 15 to charge Apple Watch or AirPods.”
Reverse wired charging is a good addition, but that won’t be very helpful because iPhones pack smaller batteries.
The USB-C port in the Pro model offers a data transfer speed of up to 10Gb/s but the data transfer speed in iPhone 15 and 15 Plus is limited to offer 480 Mbps.
