Apple just introduced its latest smartwatch Apple Watch Series 9 at the Apple event. The watch features a ‘double tap’ feature that lets you do things like answer calls and more.
Apple Watch Series 9 is powered by Apple Silicon. The S9 SiP introduces an updated version of Apple’s ultra-wideband chip. Much like the U1 chip, this latest iteration grants the device “spatial awareness,” allowing for precise detection of nearby devices equipped with the same technology. Apple’s enhancements to the ultra-wideband technology elevate its precision, paving the way for innovative functionalities within Find My.
Another notable addition is a brighter display, boasting a maximum brightness of 2000 nits, which reduces to just 1 nit when the Apple Watch is not actively in use. Apple claims that this brand new Apple Watch has all day 18hrs battery life to keep you updated all the time.
It can be controlled by gestures like double tapping to Answer a call, End a call, Change music, Stop a timer, Snooze an alarm, Scroll through widgets and so much more.
While the Apple Watch Series 9 doesn’t incorporate any groundbreaking health features, it does showcase improvements in the heart rate sensor’s accuracy. Additionally, Apple has introduced a new gyroscope that facilitates a touchless control method via a double-tap gesture on the Apple Watch screen.
Apple Watch Series 9 comes in Aluminum and steel versions. The aluminum version offers pink, starlight, silver, midnight, and product red colors. The stainless steel version comes in gold, silver, and graphite colors.
The Apple Watch Series 9 is priced starting at $399 and is offered in two size options: 41mm and 45mm. These watches are available in both aluminum and stainless steel finishes. You can place your pre-orders starting today, and the official in-store release is scheduled for the following Friday, which falls on September 22nd.
