At its annual event in China, Xiaomi also showcased its new bio-inspired quadruped robot, CyberDog 2.

Xiaomi CyberDog 2 is the successor to Xiaomi CyberDog which was introduced back in 2021. CyberDog 2 has a design inspired by Doberman. So, it feels like a real small dog. It weighs 8.9 kg and is 36.7 cm tall. Xiaomi boasts enhanced intelligence and lifelike characteristics.

Xiaomi has also improved mobility by using self-developed CyberGear micro-actuators. These actuators make the robot dog agile. So, It is capable of performing more complicated maneuvers such as backflips, ballet steps, and more. With UWB remote control, users can have seamless control over their robotic companion.

CyberDog 2 uses multimodal AI to feel the presence of people in the room. It can learn by itself by using Reinforcement Learning. It is powered by an NX processor that is capable of executing 21 trillion operations per second. It also has two secondary brains with dual coprocessors. There is an RGB camera, an interactive AI camera, an ultrasonic sensor, a LiDAR sensor, a depth-sensing camera, two “fisheye” sensors, a force sensor, four time-of-flight (ToF) cameras ), four microphones, two ultra-wideband (UWB) chips, and an inertial measurement unit.

The robot has an array of 19 sensors for vision, touch, and hearing. These sensors ensure that the robot navigates with remarkable precision. Xiaomi claims that CyberDog 2 can also understand and show emotions. The company further explains if the owner is joyful, CyberDog 2 joyfully wiggles its butt and leaps from side to side.

CyberDog 2 is priced at 12,999 yuan and will be available in China soon. The robot dog will be available in black, blue, and gold colors.
