Resident Evil 2 Remake becomes the Best-Selling Resident Evil Game Ever

Resident Evil 2 Remake has become the best-selling game of the Resident Evil series. The company has sold 12.6 million cumulative copies of the game across consoles and PC. Resident Evil 2 Remake has overtaken Resident Evil 7 which held the record with 12.40m units.

1. Resident Evil 2 Remake — 12.6 million
2. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard — 12.4 million
3. Resident Evil 5 — 8.8 million
4. Resident Evil 6 — 8.8 million
5. Resident Evil Village — 8.3 million

Resident Evil 2 Remake was initially launched for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Later in June 2022, the game was released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Capcom also confirmed that the Resident Evil 4 remake has sold 4.9 million copies since its launch earlier this year. The Resident Evil series has sold over 146 million units globally.
