Sony has confirmed that it has sold over 40 million PlayStation 5 consoles since its launch in November 2020. Since the start of the year, the company has sold around 8 million units. Sony confirmed to sell 10 million PS5 units within 8 months of launch. It makes PS5 the fastest-selling PlayStation console ever.

Sony launched PlayStation 5 in November 2020 but faced months of supply chain issues due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Several users who wanted to buy PlayStation 5 could get it due to the unavailability of sticks. Now the company claims that it is ready to meet the demand.

“Despite the unprecedented challenges of COVID, our teams and our partners worked diligently to deliver PS5 on time,” says Sony Interactive Entertainment president and CEO Jim Ryan in a blog post. “But now PS5 supply is well-stocked and we are seeing that pent up demand finally being met.”

There are now more than 25000 PS5 games available for gamers. Final Fantasy XVI, Diablo IV, and Street Fighter 6 are the latest incredible games from partners. Several new blockbusters games will also be coming for the console. So, this is a good time to buy PlayStation 5 to enjoy these games.

PlayStation 5 was launched in two variants: Digital and Standard with a disk drive. Rumors also suggest that Sony is also working on an enhanced edition of a PlayStation 5.
