WhatsApp now lets you edit messages after sending

WhatsApp has finally added an option to edit messages after sending. Messages can be edited within 15 minutes after sending. Edited messages will also have the ‘edited label to confirm that the message was edited.

The company has confirmed that the app won’t send a new notification to the phone if the message was edited. This feature doesn’t keep editing history. So, the recipient won’t see the old message after it has been edited.

To edit a message on WhatsApp, long tap on the message you want to edit. If you are on Android, tap More options and then tap Edit. iPhone users will instantly see the edit option after long tapping on the message. If you are using WhatsApp on the desktop, hover the message you want to edit, then click Menu and then Edit message.

Starting today, WhatsApp has started rolling out the ability to edit messages globally in the stable versions of WhatsApp for Android and iPhone. The feature is also being rolled out for Desktop and web versions. It will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.
