At Google I/O, Google also unveils its first foldable smartphone dubbed Pixel Fold. The phone has a 7.6-inch large display when unfolded and a 5.8-inch outer display. It packs a Tensor G2 processor and 12GB LPDDR5 RAM. Pixel Fold also packs a 4821mAh battery.
Google Pixel Fold features a 5.8-inch FHD+ OLED outer display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1550 nits peak brightness. It also has Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It also has a 7.6-inch large OLED inner display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Ultra Thin Glass with a protective plastic layer. The inner display also has up to 1450 nits peak brightness.
Pixel Fold packs a Tensor G2 processor and Titan M2 security chip. It has 12GB LPDDR5 RAM. The foldable phone will be sold in 256GB and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage options.
Pixel Fold has a stainless steel hinge that can withstand wear and tear. Google claims that the hinge of Pixel fold is the most durable among all foldable. The phone is also IPX8 water-resistant.
Google Pixel Fold runs Android 13. The UI features a taskbar to switch between apps or drag a compatible app into split-screen mode to multitask. It also lets you go hands-free with tabletop mode.
The rear camera setup includes 48 megapixel primary camera with OIS, 10.8 megapixels 121.1° Ultra-wide camera, and 10.8 megapixels telephoto camera. The camera setup offers 5x optical zoom and 20x Super Res zoom. It can also record 4K videos. The phone also features Real Tone, Night Sight, and Portrait photography. For selfies, the phone has 8 megapixels camera on inter display and 9.5 megapixels camera on the front camera.
It features stereo speakers and supports USB Type-C audio. Connectivity options include 5G SA/NA, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E 802.11 ax (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.2 LE, GPS, USB Type C 3.2 gen 2, and NFC.
Pixel Fold packs a 4821mAh battery and promises 24 hours of battery life. It supports 30W wired charging and , wireless charging.
Google Pixel Fold is priced at $1799 for the 256GB model and $1919 for the 512GB model.
