Mediatek introduces Dimensity 7050 mobile platform

Mediatek has introduced its latest SoC duvet Dimensity 7050. Dimensity 7050 seems identical to the Dimensity 1080 that was launched back in November. The SoC promises exceptional performance, improved app response, and smoother FPS in games.

Dimensity 7050 has an octa-core processor and is built on TSMC’s N6 chip production process. It features 2x Arm Cortex-A78 performance cores and 6x Arm Cortex-A55 power-efficiency cores. The SoC also has Arm Mali-G68 MC4 to handle graphics.

The chipset uses Intelligent Refresh Rate Display technology for offering full HD+ displays up to 120Hz. It supports both LPDDR5 and LPDDR4X memory along with UFS 3.1 and UFS 2.1 storage.

The SoC supports 200MP main cameras and comes with a hardware-based camera engine and a 4K HDR video capture engine. It also has premium noise reduction techniques built into the chip to provide bigger, brighter, and sharper photos. The SoC also has MediaTek APU 550 that enables severe AI-camera enhancements.

The mobile platform has HyperEngine technology to provide integrated 5G HSR mode. This mode actively searches for and connects to the lowest latency accessible cell tower. This will provide better gaming and network experience. It also has Wi-Fi 6 with 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.2, and GNSS, and faster 5G Carrier Aggregation (2CC-CA) with mixed duplex FDD+TDD.

Lava Agni 2 5G will be the first phone to come with MediaTek Dimensity 7050. Lava Agni 2 5G will be launched in India soon.
