ASUS has launched its latest gaming smartphones, the ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate, in India and other global markets. This phones feature a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED HDR display with a 165Hz refresh rate and is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
The Asus ROG Phone 7 series is designed with gaming in mind and features advanced cooling solutions to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted gaming experience. This latest series follows in the footsteps of the Asus ROG Phone 6 series, which was released in July 2022.
Asus ROG Phone 7 and Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate Specification
The Asus ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, with an Adreno 740 GPU. They come with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS4.0 internal storage, ensuring the smooth running of applications and ample storage space.
These phones are dual nano-SIM phones that operate on the Android 13 operating system with ROG UI and Zen UI interfaces, respectively. The phones feature a 6.78-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate and a touch sampling rate of 720Hz. The ROG Phone 7 has a ROG (RGB light) logo, while the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate comes with a ROG Vision color PMOLED display. The display offers a peak brightness of up to 1000nits and has a pixel density of 395ppi, providing users with an immersive visual experience.
The Asus ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate have a triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and an 8-megapixel macro lens. The front camera has a 32-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls.
Both phones have a 6,000mAh battery that supports 65W wired fast charging, allowing for extended gaming sessions. They feature GPS, NFC, Bluetooth v5.3, and Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac/ax connectivity options, and have an IP54 rating for protection against dust and water splashes. The dimensions of these phones are 173mm x 77mm x 10.3mm, with a weight of 239 grams, making them sleek and portable.
According to the company, the GameCool 7 thermal system in the ROG Phone 7 has been significantly improved, providing the best cooling for the CPU yet. The system uses a three-pronged approach to keep the CPU cool from all directions. The first approach is a Boron Nitride (BN) thermal compound on one side of the CPU that reduces throttling during short gaming sessions. Secondly, for longer gaming sessions, the system utilizes a larger vapor chamber and graphite sheets on the other side of the CPU.
Asus ROG Phone 7 and Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate Price and Availablity:
The Asus ROG Phone 7 has been released in India and is priced at Rs. 74,999. It comes with a maximum RAM of 12GB and 256GB of internal storage. The Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate is the higher-end model, with a massive 16GB RAM and 512GB internal storage, and is priced at Rs. 99,999. These variants are set to hit the market in May, promising to provide gamers with an outstanding gaming experience.
The phone is available for pre-order in Europe and China starting today and will be showcased at Vijay Sales in India. The phone will be available for purchase from the Asus India e-Store, select ASUS exclusive stores, select ROG stores, and Vijay Sales (online and offline) starting from May 2023.
