Apple quietly removes Live Wallpapers in iOS 16

Apple has quietly removed the Live Wallpapers feature in the latest iOS 16. The feature was initially added to iOS with iOS 11 and most iPhone users use it. Apple has also removed official Dynamic Wallpapers.

Dynamic Wallpapers were basically the wallpapers that animate when you long press on the display. It shows the motion of a Live Wallpaper. But it became useless after Apple introduced a customizable lock screen feature on iPhones. It is because a long press on the Lock Screen now lets users customize Lock Screen. This is the Apple decided to remove the previous feature.

Apple also did internal research and found that most people weren’t using Dynamic Wallpapers throughout the years. So, removing the feature didn’t disappoint many. In the same way, Apple removed the 3D Touch feature due to little usage.
