Redmi has now further improved its fast charging tech and showed off its new 300W fast charging. It can charge a phone with a 4300mAh battery up to 100% in 9 minutes. In the demo video, the company used a modified Redmi Note 12 Pro+ with a built-in 4,100mAh battery.

In the demo video, it can be seen that the phone took 2 minutes and 12 seconds to charge to 50% and 4 minutes and 54 seconds for charging to 100%. The measured peak power was 290W and it also maintained 280W power for 2 minutes.

Redmi used 15C ultra-high rate cells and a new “sandwich” stacking scheme. It also introduced a new hard carbon material into the battery to replace graphite to provide faster reaction speed.

The charging adapter uses Double GaN technology and features more than 50 safety protections. Even after increasing charging speed, the company managed to keep the charger of the same size.

Redmi has not confirmed when it plans to launch 300W fast charging tech in a smartphone.
