Soon after Elon Musk bought Twitter, he revamped the Twitter Blue subscription. He brought much awaited Edit Tweet button and started offering a Blue tick to every Twitter Blue subscriber. Previously, the Blue tick was only available to verified profiles that represent a notable person, celebrity, journalist, politician, or brand.

With the new Twitter Blue, anyone can get the blue tick on their Twitter profile just by subscribing to Twitter Blue. If you are also interested in buying Twitter Blue just because you want a blue tick on your Twitter profile, you should know that there are still eligibility criteria.

On Twitter, a blue tick on a Twitter profile may mean two different things. Either the account was previously verified under the legacy verification criteria or is an active Twitter Blue subscriber.

Twitter Blue still has eligibility criteria for offering blue tick. If you purchase Twitter Blue, you will get all the features instantly but not the blue tick. Twitter will add a blue tick only after it confirms your profile is eligible.

Here’s a list of eligibility criteria:

  • Your account must have a display name and profile photo
  • Your account must be active in the past 30 days to subscribe to Twitter Blue
  • Your account must be older than 90 days upon subscription and have a confirmed phone number
  • Your account must have no recent changes to your profile photo, display name, or username
  • Your account must have no signs of being misleading or deceptive
  • Your account must have no signs of engaging in platform manipulation and spam

Any change in the profile photo, display name, or username (@handle) will also result in the temporary loss of the blue tick. Twitter will validate your account again to check if your account meets the requirements.

Twitter also confirmed that it may remove the checkmark of an account at any time without notice without offering a refund.
