MediaTek launches Helio G36 for budget gaming phones

MediaTek just introduced its latest SoC Helio G36 in its Helio G series. Helio G36 will power upcoming entry-level gaming smartphones in India.

Helio G36 is a 12nm Soc that has an octa-core Arm Cortex-A53 CPU and IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It also has MediaTek HyperEngine 2.0 Lite and Resource Management Engine 2.0 to ensure sustained performance and dynamic management of GPU, CPU, and memory. The SoC also includes Networking Engine 2.0 to enable faster response and better connectivity.

It supports up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage. The SoC supports 50 megapixels single camera or a 13MP + 13MP dual camera. Camera features include AI Beautification, AI Smart Photo Album, and Single-Cam/Dual-Cam Bokeh.

Helio G36 supports a Full HD+ 90Hz display. Connectivity options include Dual-Band Wi-Fi 5 (a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 5.0, Beidou, Galileo, Glonass, GPS, and QZSS.

Helio G36 will power budget phones under Rs 10,000 price segment. We should know the availability details soon.
