Game developer Respawn Entertainment today announced that Apex Legends Mobile will shut down in all regions on May 1st. The company is also disabling all real money in-app purchases and players have 90 days to spend their existing Syndicate Gold. It is also pulling the app from app stores.

Electronic Arts also published a blog post to confirm the news. The company claims that the game began to fall short of the standard set for quality, quantity, and cadence. So, it has with development partner made a mutual decision.

The company has also confirmed that there won’t be refunds for real money purchases.

EA is also shutting down the development of the current Battlefield mobile game that was announced in April 2021.

“As the industry has evolved and our strategy to create a deeply connected Battlefield ecosystem has taken shape, we decided to pivot from the current direction to best deliver on our vision for the franchise and to meet the expectations of our players,” EA explains.
