MediaTek introduces Genio 700 IoT chip

MediaTek has unveiled its new Genio 700 octa-core chipset for smart home, smart retail, and Industrial Internet of things products.

MediaTek Genio 700 is based on a 6nm manufacturing process. The octa-core processor includes two ARM A78 cores running at 2.2GHz and six ARM A55 cores at 2.0GHz. It also has Arm Mali-G57 GPU to handle graphics.

The chip supports FHD60 and 4K60 dual displays and AV1, VP9, H.265, and H.264 video codes. The SoC also has ARM PSA certification for increased security. The chip also has an ISP for better images.

“With a focus on industrial and smart home products, the Genio 700 is a perfect natural addition to the lineup to ensure we can provide the widest range of support possible to our customers,” Richard Lu, Vice President of MediaTek IoT Business Unit said in a statement.

The SoC supports high-speed interfaces, including PCIe 2.0, USB 3.2 Gen1, and MIPI-CSI interfaces.

Genio 700 will be available for brands starting in Q2 2023. The company will also showcase the SoC at the upcoming CES 2023 technology show later this week.
