Lenovo has announced a new smartphone that feels inspired by the Lenovo ThinkPad laptop. The company calls this smartphone ThinkPhone by Motorola. This smartphone aims at business and corporate users. The phone features a 6.6-inch FHD+ 144Hz pOLED display, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, rugged build, and 5000mAh battery.
ThinkPhone by Motorola features a 6.6-inch Full HD+ 144Hz pOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The display supports HDR10+ and also features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
The phone has IP68 certification. So, it can withstand dust and water immersion. The phone is made of an aircraft-grade aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus. The phone is also MIL-STD 810H certified It can also survive shocks and drops from up to 1.25 meters.
It packs 3.2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Plus 4nm processor and Adreno 730 GPU. It is offered with 8 or 12GB RAM and 128, 256, or 512GB internal storage.
ThinkPhone by Motorola runs Android 13 out of the box. It also features several software features to ensure data safety. It has Moto KeySafe that keeps processes running separately on Android and adds another layer of security to protect sensitive data. The phone also isolates PINs, passwords, and cryptographic keys in a secure environment.
The phone also comes with Think 2 Think connectivity that lets business users enjoy seamless device integration between ThinkPhone and a ThinkPad. If you have a ThinkPone and a ThinkPad, you enjoy a unified clipboard, unified notifications, app streaming, file drop, instant connect, and Instant Hotspot.
You can use the phone as a webcam on your ThinkPad and open any Android app on your laptop’s screen. The phone also comes with Microsoft 365, Outlook, and Teams apps preloaded.
The rear camera setup includes a 50 megapixels primary camera with PDAF and OIS. It also has a 13 megapixels ultra-wide camera and 2 megapixels depth camera. The camera can record 8K 30fps and 4K HDR+ videos. For selfies, the phone features a 32 megapixels front camera.
It has Stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos. Connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 6E, MU-MIMO, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, QZSS(L1+L5), 2 x USB Type-C, and NFC.
Lenovo ThinkPhone by Motorola packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 68W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.
Lenovo has not confirmed the pricing details. The phone will be available in the US, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Australia, and select countries across Asia later this year.
