Asus announces 540 Hz gaming monitors

Asus Swift Pro PG248QP

Asus has announced its new Swift Pro PG248QP gaming monitor that can offer up to 540 Hz refresh rate when overclocked. The Swift Pro PG248QP features a 24-inch Full HD display and supports Nvidia G-Sync adaptive sync technology.

Asus Swift Pro PG248QP comes with a 24-inch TN panel with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. TN panel is known for offering a better refresh rate over viewing angles or a wide color gamut. This TN panel offers 90% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

The monitor features Nvidia Reflex Analyzer for measuring system latency and also supports Nvidia G-Sync adaptive Nvidia G-Sync adaptive sync tech. The company didn’t confirm the native resolution. All we know is the 540Hz refresh rate when overclocked.

The monitor only features HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4 connectors. It also has an integrated ESS DAC converter for offering surround sound with near-zero audio latency.

I personally think that a monitor with a 540Hz refresh rate is overkill. You can actually get any benefit only if your system can deliver more than 500fps.
