Apple has just introduced updated 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro powered by new M2 Pro and M2 Max chips. Apple claims that the new models will be up to 40 percent faster than previous models.
M2 Pro offers 10- or 12-core core CPUs that boost performance by up to 20 percent over the 10-core M1 Pro CPU. The GPU in M2 Pro has 19 cores that promise faster processing in content creation apps. M2 Max boasts to be the most powerful and efficient chip for laptops. It has 12 cores like the M2 Pro but the GPU cores have been increased to 38 as compared to 24 in M1 Max. These new chips also include Apple’s next-generation 16-core Neural Engine which is 40 percent.
There is no change in the device but the new 14- and 16-inch models of MacBook Pro are faster. These laptops also offer a better battery life. So, new MacBook Pro models can now run up to 22 hours on a single charge. The HDMI port also supports 8K for the first time.
The M2 version feature 24GB of unified memory and 100GB/s of bandwidth. The M2 Pro models support up to 32GB of unified memory and offers 200GB/s of memory bandwidth.
Upgraded MacBook Pro models feature a Liquid Retina XDR display, a backlit Magic Keyboard, Force Touch trackpad, 1080p FaceTime HD camera, and support for spatial audio and Dolby Atmos on built-in speakers, New chips also bring Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. These laptops also support 8K external displays via HDMI for the first time.
