Apple is planning to increase the battery replacement cost of several iPhone models including the iPhone 13, iPhone 12, iPhone 11, and iPhone X. The price will be increased starting March 1, 2023. However, AppleCare+ subscribers will still get their iPhone batteries replaced at no additional cost.

“The current out-of-warranty battery service fee will apply until the end of February 2023. Effective March 1, 2023, the out-of-warranty battery service fee will be increased by $20 (approximately Rs 1654) for all iPhone models prior to iPhone 14,” Apple mentioned on its support page.

Starting March 1, 2023, the battery replacement cost of all iPhone models prior to iPhone 14 will be increased by $20. Currently, the battery replacement cost is $69 for iPhone 13, iPhone 12, iPhone 11, and iPhone X. This will be increased by $20. Battery replacement cost for iPhone SE, iPhone 8, and other models is $49 which will cost $69 starting March 1, 2023.

The company is doing the same change for the iPad. The iPad Repair & Service page also confirms the changes in the battery service fees. It will be increased by $20 for the iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th generation and prior), iPad Pro 11-inch (3rd generation and prior), iPad Pro 10.5-inch iPad Pro 9.7-inch, iPad mini (6th generation and prior), and iPad Air (5th generation and prior). Mac users will also have to pay more for battery replacement.

For battery replacement, one needs to visit Apple Store or Apple authorized service center. Apple also introduced self-service repair last year. Interested Apple users can get genuine parts from Apple and replace the battery on their own.
