Apple announces new Mac Mini with the M2 and M2 Pro chips

Along with updated MacBook Pro models, Apple has also updated the Mac mini with M2 and M2 Pro chips. New chips make the Mac mini more powerful in terms of performance.

The base model of the Mac mini features an M2 chip, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. It also has an HDMI port, gigabit ethernet, two USB-A ports, two Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) ports, and a standard headphone jack. It is priced at Rs. 59,900.

The M2 Pro model of the new Mac mini features M2 Pro, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of SSD storage, four Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI port, gigabit ethernet, two USB-A ports, and a standard headphone jack. It is priced at Rs. 1,29,900.

The M2 Pro model can also be configured to add an additional 16GB of RAM and an improved version of the M2 Pro with 12 core CPU and 19-core GPU.

Today, we’re excited to take it even further with M2 and M2 Pro,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “Bringing even more performance and a lower starting price, Mac mini with M2 is a tremendous value. And for users who need powerful pro performance, Mac mini with M2 Pro is unlike any other desktop in its class.”

Apple claims that M2 Pro can offer 2.5x faster graphical performance in Affinity Photos and 4.2x faster performance in rendering a complex timeline in Final Cut Pro (4.2x faster).
