Train ticket booking platform Trainman has introduced a new feature called Trip Assurance. The company promises to give you a free flight ticket if your waiting train ticket doesn’t get confirmed. Before you become excited, you need to know the complete details.

Trainman app lets users book train tickets. If you get a waiting ticket, the app also displays the prediction meter. This prediction meter tells you the chances of a ticket getting confirmed. If the prediction meter shows 90% or more, your ticket is likely to be confirmed. In case your ticket doesn’t get confirmed after the chart preparation even after Trainman predicted it getting confirmed, the company will give you a free flight ticket for your journey. It means you can get a flight ticket on the price of train ticket.

There is also a Trip Assurance fee involved here. If the prediction meter is more than 90%, you will have to pay Rs. 1 as the Trip Assurance fee (TA Fee). If the score is lower, a higher price is charged depending on the class of the ticket.

If your train ticket gets confirmed, your TA fee will be credited to your TM Wallet as TM Cash. You can use this in your next booking.

Trip Assurance is currently available on around 130 trains including all Rajdhani trains. It is worth noting that the Trip Assurance feature will apply only to cities that have airports.

Trainman is an authorized partner of IRCTC for offering ticket booking. It uses machine learning to predict the chances of a ticket getting confirmed. The company claims that its train prediction model works with 94 percent accuracy. In case the company fails, it will provide free flight tickets.
