Amazon India has just introduced a mobile-only single-user plan for Prime Video in India. This plan costs Rs. 599 per year and offers access to Prime Video content on mobile browsers or smartphone apps.

The company initially launched the mobile-only plan back in January 2021 in collaboration with Airtel. As a part of the collaboration, the mobile-only plan was only available to pre-paid Airtel users in different plans. Now the company has decided to make this plan available to everyone across the country.

Prime Video mobile-only plan offers SD quality (480p) streaming on smartphones. This plan will include the same catalog of the content we get in the regular Prime subscription. It will also let users download content for offline viewing.

“Over the last six years we have seen a huge growth for Prime Video in India. Guided by our mission of making high quality entertainment even more accessible across the country, we are excited to launch Prime Video Mobile Edition’s annual plan. This worldwide-first innovation saw an incredible response from Indian consumers when we launched via a telecom association last year, and building on that success we are extending its access, with it now being made available directly for subscription through Prime Video’s app and website,” Gaurav Gandhi, vice president, Prime Video India said in a statement.

The standard Prime subscription costs Rs 1,499 annually and offers access to Prime Video across multiple devices in high resolution. With the Prime subscription, people also get fast delivery on Amazon.in, ad-free music with Prime Music and Prime Reading.
