Google unveils Android 13 (Go edition) for budget phones

Google has finally released Android 13 (Go Edition) for budget phones. Android 13 Go Edition focuses on customization, reliability, and usability. This new OS also brings Material You design. Google has also confirmed that there are over 250 million monthly active Android Go devices.

Google has finally made available Material You design to budget phones running Android Go. This UI changes the color scheme of the phone based on the wallpaper. It also lets users customize the look and feel.

This new version also brings a Discover feature that lets you swipe right from your home screen to get a curated list of content.

Starting with this Android Go release, Google Play System Updates will also be available for the devices. So, phones will receive important software updates outside of a major Android release.

Some notable Android 13 features including Notification permissions and app language preferences are also making their way to Android Go Edition.

Google confirmed that smartphones running Android 13 (Go edition) should arrive in 2023.
