India’s Reserve Bank of India has issued a warning and asked the public not to undertake forex transactions on unauthorized trading platforms. It also released a list of unauthorized trading platforms running in India. These platforms are not authorized to operate electronic trading platforms for forex transactions on their website.
It also made it clear that the list is not final and was made based on what was known to RBI at the time of making the list. There may be more unauthorized platforms running in India. RBI suggested Indian public undertake forex transactions only with authorized persons or ETP. The authorization status of any person/ETP can be checked on RBI’s website.
These platforms promise lofty returns on investment but keep users at risk of big losses. RBI has also confirmed that users of these. Platforms may also be prosecuted.
