To help the startup ecosystem, the open-source software development platform GitHub has made its developer platform open for Everyone including Indian startups. Eligible Indian startups will get up to 20 seats of GitHub Enterprise free for one year. They will also get support and guidance from GitHub technical experts.

A startup gets access to an enterprise-ready developer platform to help in scaling from idea to IPO.

Speaking on the announcement, CEO Thomas Dohmke, GitHub, said, “No longer can any organization enter, compete, and grow in the modern, digitized economy without software, the power of developers, and the open source community. As the home for the world’s developers, it is our responsibility to provide entrepreneurs access to our complete developer platform, so anyone can rapidly and securely turn their aspirations into the next great startup of tomorrow.”

GitHub launched GitHub for Startups earlier this year after testing it with some partners around the world and hundreds of startups in a pilot program. You get tools for project collaboration, project management, automation, security, and more.

For applying to GitHub for Startups, a startup must raise up to Series A funding and must be new to the GitHub developer platform. A startup must not have previously received credits for GitHub Enterprise. If your startup is not eligible, you can signup for a free trial and then pay the subscription fee.

Microsoft-owned GitHub has more than 83 million global developers on the platform and 7.2 million developers in India.
