Twitch has today removed the exclusivity rules for the partner and affiliate streamers. So, partners and affiliate streamers can now also stream their content on other platforms such as YouTube and Facebook.

Previously, Twitch partners were not allowed to Livestream on other platforms to get benefits from Twitch. Some Twitch streamers gave away their partner status just to stream on multiple platforms.

Twitch confirmed the change in rules in an email sent to partners on August 23.

“Starting today, you are now allowed to create live content on other platforms. This means you have more flexibility to explore how to use different, off-platform features to further build your community and interact with streamers off Twitch,” the email reads.

Twitch still has added some rules while allowing streams on other platforms. The company confirmed that streaming on two web-based platforms at once is still not allowed. Streamers can multi-stream to short-form video apps such as Instagram or TikTok at the same time they are streaming to Twitch. Streamers can not stream on Facebook or YouTube and Twitch at the same time. You can either start streaming to other platforms once your Twitch stream ends, or end other streams first and then start streaming on Twitch.

This move is certainly to stop Twitch streamers from changing their platforms. Several streamers have now partnered with YouTube and left their partner status on Twitch. Some even left the Twitch platform to offer exclusive streams on YouTube.
