Snapchat has added a new ‘Dual Camera’ feature on its app. The feature lets users capture photos or record videos using both front and back cameras at the same time. The feature will be available on iPhone XS/XR or above. Android users will also get this in the coming months.
The dual Camera feature lets users capture using both rear and front cameras at the same time. It also lets you select how you want to align images. You can either align horizontally or vertically. There is also a picture-in-picture mode and a cutout mode that adjusts your selfie on the image from the rear camera.
“Dual Camera is a creative way for our community to capture exciting moments while being part of the memory – like rocking out at a music festival or everyday moments like your culinary adventures in the kitchen,” said the company in a blog post.
Once you capture a moment using the dual camera feature, you can also use Snapchat creative tools to add other things like music, Stickers, and Lenses.
BeReal became really popular for offering the same feature. Instagram recently copied the dual camera feature and added a dual camera option in Reels and Story. Now Snapchat is also bringing the same thing but in a slightly different way. Snapchat has copied the feature but with a slightly different experience.
Dual Camera feature is now available on supported iOS devices starting today. Android users will have to wait a few more months to get the feature.
