Along with next-gen foldable smartphones, Samsung also launched its latest Galaxy Watch5 Series at Galaxy Unpacked event. The Galaxy Watch5 series includes Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro. Both the watches feature Sapphire Crystal display, BioActive Sensor, Exynos W920, and One UI Watch 4.5.
Samsung Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro have similar specs. The primary difference is that Galaxy Watch5 Pro has a more durable titanium casing compared to the Armor Aluminum casing in Galaxy Watch5. Both the smartwatches have a 5ATM + IP68 rating for dust and water resistance and MIL-STD-810G rating.
Samsung Galaxy Watch5 comes in 40mm and 44mm sizes. The 40mm model features a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED Always On Display and the 44mm model sports a 1.4-inch Super AMOLED Always On Display. The Galaxy Watch5 Pro features a 1.4-inch Super AMOLED Always On Display. Both the watches pack Exynos W920 Dual-Core processor, 1.5GB RAM, and 16GB internal storage.
These watches run One UI Watch4.5 out of the box. The company claims that the new UI offers a more comprehensive typing experience and a convenient way to initiate calls.
Both the watches pack Samsung’s BioActive Sensor which is a single chip with three sophisticated health sensors: optical heart rate, electrical heart signal, and bioelectrical impedance analysis. These sensors measure heart rate, blood oxygen level, and stress. The watch also measures blood pressure. Other sensors include Temperature Sensor, Accelerometer, Barometer, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, and Light Sensor.
Samsung Galaxy Watch5 40mm and 44mm watches pack 284mAh and 410mAh batteries respectively. Watch5 Pro packs a 590mAh battery. These watches also support fast charging.
Samsung Galaxy Watch5 40mm is priced at $279.99 and the LTE variant costs $329.99. The 44mm model costs $309.99 and the LTE version is priced at $359.99. Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro is priced at $449.99 for the normal version and $499.99 for the LTE version.
These watches are now available for pre-order and will be shipped in select markets from August 26th.
