Netflix announced a new cheaper version of the subscription plan with ad support. The company partnered with Microsoft to release this Ad-supported subscription plan to stop the company’s shrinking subscribers. It is still unclear when this new ad-supported subscription model will roll out; there are no details of this subscription until now.

Netflix lost almost 200K subscribers in the first quarter of 2022 which worried the company and forced it to take serious steps. This is a global advertising technology and sales partnership with Microsoft. Microsoft will help Netflix in the development of its first ad-supported subscription service. All ads on Netflix will be available solely via the Microsoft platform.

Netflix COO Greg Peters said, “In April we announced that we will introduce a new lower-priced ad-supported subscription plan for consumers, in addition to our existing ads-free basic, standard, and premium plans. Today we are pleased to announce that we have selected Microsoft as our global advertising technology and sales partner.”
