YouTube Premium has launched a referral program for existing subscribers to get more users. The referral program rewards users with an extension of their subscription by a month. Users who use the referral link to subscribe to YouTube Premium will get YouTube Premium at a discounted price of $0.99 (or depending on the country they live in).

YouTube Premium referral program

YouTube Premium referral program will be available until next May. You can launch YouTube for Android app, and tap on your profile picture. Then open ‘Your Premium benefits’ to get the referral link. Surprisingly, the YouTube app for iOS app doesn’t have an option to get the referral link.

If you refer a person, you will get one free month of YouTube premium. But you can get up to 12 months of extension only.

YouTube Premium offers ad-free video streaming, background video playback, Picture-in-Picture mode, and more. You also get YouTube Music access.

The referral program is expected to be available to all users in a phased manner.
