WhatsApp is reportedly working on the edit text messages features. So, users can fix if there’s a typo in the message they sent. The feature has been spotted by Wabetainfo in the beta version of the WhatsApp app. Wabetainfo also shared a screenshot to show us how this feature will work.

WhatsApp edit messages

To edit the message, you need to long-press on it and you will see the Edit option. Tapping on the Edit will let you edit the message and send it again. Currently, the company lets users delete the message if there’s a mistake. So, you can delete the message and send a new one.

It is worth noting that the company already tried adding the edit option for messages around 5 years ago but the idea was later dropped. Telegram has already been offering an edit option for messages for a long time.

For now, the company is testing the feature in the beta version of the Android app. The company could soon start testing the feature in the beta version of iOS and web clients. Once the test results are satisfactory, the company will roll out the feature in the stable version.
