Last month, a few reports talked about the paid tier of Telegram. Today, Telegram founder and CEO, Pavel Durov, has confirmed that a premium tier is coming to Telegram soon. It will be called Telegram Premium and will get several premium features.

Telegram is a popular social messaging app with lots of interesting features. But people usually ask to remove existing limits on existing features and add more features. So, the company has decided to add those requested features and remove limits on a premium subscription. Telegram claims that removing existing limits will increase server and traffic costs. So, the company has no other choice.

Telegram is expected to increase existing limits on the document size, multi-user calls, group limits, and more in the Premium subscription.

The company confirmed that all existing features will remain free. Even if you are not a Telegram Premium subscriber, you will be able to see the large document sent by a premium user even if the free tier doesn’t allow that much of large documents.

Telegram tried privacy-focused ads in public one-to-many channels but the company thinks it should be funded primarily by its users, not advertisers.
