WhatsApp has finally received one of the most requested features. The app now lets users transfer chats from Android to an iPhone. Your WhatsApp chat history, photos, and videos can now be transferred from an Android phone to an iPhone.
You need to use the Move to iOS Android app that Apple created for seamless data transfer from Android to iOS. Then you can move all the data including contacts, calendar, SMS messages, and photos from Android to iPhone. Now the app can also move WhatsApp data.
Move to iOS app encrypts WhatsApp data that has to be authenticated on the iPhone before you can access it. It requires an Android phone running Android 5 or later and iPhone running iOS 15 or later. You also need the most recent version of Move to iOS and WhatsApp apps.
People who switch from Android to an iPhone usually be disappointed when they have to start over on WhatsApp. I know a lot of people who keep carrying an Android phone just to have access to old WhatsApp conversations. You can only move chats if you are setting up a new iPhone using the Move to iOS app. If you already have an iPhone, you cannot move chats from an old Android phone. The only way to get back your WhatsApp chat is to wipe your iPhone and set it up as a new device.
