Microsoft launches Defender app for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android

Microsoft has today launched its Defender cybersecurity app for Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android platforms. The Defender will be available as a part of the Microsoft 365 subscription and features will vary by platform.

Defender app aims to keep your data private and devices secure. The app is an online security app that brings multiple security protections into a single dashboard. You get cross-platform malware protection, security alerts, the status of your existing antivirus protection, and expert tips.

For iOS and iPadOS users, there is no antivirus protection. The app will only offer some web phishing protection and alerts. Android users get antivirus and internet security. Windows users will get a complete dashboard where they can see existing antivirus protection and manager security protections across devices. Expert advice is only available on Macs and Windows systems.

The app’s dashboard also lets you check all the devices connected to your subscription at once place. You can easily add or remove devices.

Microsoft has also promised to bring more features to the Defender app in the coming months. The company says that it is already working on adding identity theft protection.
