People use VPNs for privacy but what if their data still gets into the wrong hands? Recently a Team at vpnMentor discovered a database of VPN users shared on a Telegram group for free. As per reports, the data belongs to users of GeckoVPN, SuperVPN, and ChatVPN. The database is dated 2021-02-25 and anyone who is a member of the group now has access to the complete data.

The database contains records of over 21 million users worldwide. It includes email addresses, usernames, full names, country names, billing details, and more. The database also includes passwords but passwords were either hashed and salted or random. So, passwords are really hard to crack.

It is really important to note that GeckoVPN, SuperVPN, and ChatVPN are all free VPNs. As I always said, if you are using a free VPN, you are actually at risk.

If you use any of these VPNs, you should change your account passwords immediately. You should also keep an eye on your inbox for phishing emails from cybercriminals.

I also recommend people always use a premium and trusted VPN. I have already shared several articles on VPNs.
