Google unveils Pixel 6a with Tensor SoC

At Google I/O 2022, Google officially unveiled its next-gen mid-range smartphone Google Pixel 6a. The phone feels like a downgraded version of Pixel 6 while retaining some nice features. Pixel 6a is priced at $449.

Pixel 6a features a 6.1-inch 60Hz OLED display with 2400×1080 pixels resolution. It also has Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the display. The phone runs Android 12 out of the box and promises five years of security updates.

It packs Google Tensor SoC that was used in the Pixel 6 series. The phone also has a Titan M2 security chip. Pixel 6a has 6GB of LPDDR5 memory and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

The phone has 12.2 megapixels dual-pixel primary camera with optical image stabilization and a 12 megapixels ultra-wide camera. It also comes with an 8 megapixels selfie camera.

Pixel 6a comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers, and dual microphones. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and a USB Type-C port. It packs a 4410mAh battery and promises over 24 hours of regular use. The phone also supports 18W USB-PD fast charging

Pixel 6a is made out of plastic and has an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. It comes in Chalk, Charcoal, and Sage colors.

Pixel 6a is priced at $449 and will go on sale starting July 21 from the online series and starting July 28 from retail stores. Google has also confirmed that Pixel 6a will make its way to India later this year.
