Mediatek has announced its latest mobile chipset Dimensity 1300. The chip is built on TSMC’s 6nm process. It packs an octa-core processor with four Cortex-A78 cores. One Ultra Cortex-A78 core runs at up to 3GHz and three Super Cortex-A78 cores run at up to 2.6GHz. The other four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores run at up to 2GHz. To handle graphics requirements, the SoC is paired with a 9-core Arm Mali-G77 MC9.

The Dimensity 1300 supports up to 16GB of 4266Mbps LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 type storage. It also has HyperEngine 5.0 which provides a comprehensive suite of gaming-related optimizations.

It also supports up to 168Hz displays at up to FullHD+ or 2520x1080px resolution. This Soc can handle up to 200MP cameras and can capture multi-person portrait mode video and 4K HDR video. Mediatek claims that the Soc can offer improved low-light image capture and a 40% greater dynamic range in 4K HDR video capture. It also supports hardware-accelerated AV1 decoding for faster 4K streaming.

It also comes with a built-in 5G modem with dual 5G SIM capability and super-fast 5G NR performance. It also supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.

Mediatek has not confirmed any devices yet but we expect the upcoming OnePlus smartphone to pack Dimensity 1300.
