WhatsApp Voice Messages get much-needed updates

WhatsApp

WhatsApp has announced a series of updates to improve its voice messages. Updates include out-of-chat playback, pause, and resume voice message recordings, waveform visualization, and draft preview.

One of the most notable updates is out-of-chat playback. So, you can keep listening to a voice message while replying to a text in another conversation. Now a voice message also remembers playback. If you pause a voice message, you can later pick up where you left off.

Now it also supports pause and resume recording. So, you can take a break while recording a voice message. In case of an interruption, you will not have to start over. Now it also supports a draft preview that lets you listen to your recording before you send it.

Voice messages can be played at 1.5x or 2x speeds to listen to messages faster on both regular and forwarded messages.

While announcing these updates, WhatsApp has also confirmed that users send seven billion voice messages on average every day. That’s a huge number and shows how popular voice messages are. All voice messages are also end-to-end encrypted to keep them private and secure.
