Sony has announced the new PlayStation Plus Service to take on Xbox Game Pass. The all-new PlayStation Plus Service combines PS Plus and PlayStation and offers three flexible plans. Subscribers will also get access to hundreds of titles in each of the three different subscription plans.

Membership plans are:

  • PlayStation Plus Essential
  • PlayStation Plus Extra
  • PlayStation Plus Premium

PlayStation Plus Essential

PlayStation Plus Essential is the lowest tier and seems the same as the current version of PlayStation Plus. Here are the benefits:

  • Exclusive discounts
  • Cloud storage for saved games
  • Online multiplayer access

  • United States: $9.99 monthly / $24.99 quarterly / $59.99 yearly
  • Europe: €8.99 monthly / €24.99 quarterly / €59.99 yearly
  • United Kingdom: £6.99 monthly / £19.99 quarterly / £49.99 yearly
  • Japan: ¥850 monthly / ¥2,150 quarterly / ¥5,143 yearly

PlayStation Plus Extra

PlayStation Plus Extra offers all the benefits of the Essential tier and adds more than 400 games that can be downloaded and played until the subscription is active. It includes titles from PlayStation Studios and third-party developers.

  • Provides all the benefits from the Essential tier
  • Adds a catalog of up to 400 of the most enjoyable PS4 and PS5 games.

  • Europe: €13.99 monthly / €39.99 quarterly / €99.99 yearly
  • United Kingdom: £10.99 monthly / £31.99 quarterly / £83.99 yearly

PlayStation Plus Premium

PlayStation Plus Premium is the best tier and will only be available in regions that have cloud streaming. In other regions, the company will offer a PlayStation Plus Deluxe plan that will be cheaper with the same benefits but without the cloud streaming component.

  • Provides all the benefits from Essential and Extra tiers
  • Adds up to 340 additional game streaming and download options from the original PlayStation, PS2 and PSP generations
  • Offers cloud streaming access for original PlayStation, PS2, PSP and PS4 games offered in the Extra and Premium tiers in markets where PlayStation Now is currently available.
  • Time-limited game trials will also be offered in this tier.
