Last year, Sonova announced the acquisition of the Sennheiser consumer division. Now the company has finally completed the acquisition. So, Sennheiser consumer division is now part of Sonova Holding AG. Sennheiser consumer division makes headphones, soundbars, and DACs. Sonova Holding AG specializes in hearing aids and cochlear implants.
“Sennheiser and Sonova share many values and will leverage various complementary strengths,” says Martin Grieder, who will be responsible for the newly formed business at Sonova as GVP Consumer Hearing. “Both brands have a passion and dedication to high-quality audio with innovation at the heart of the business.”
The deal gives Sonova rights to use the Sennheiser brand. Sennheiser and Sonova will operate under the Sennheiser brand. For Sennheiser fans, the company will keep working as it used to work.
At the Sennheiser Consumer Innovation press event, the company also confirmed that they will mainly focus on premium headphones, audiophiles, enhanced hearing, and soundbars. They have also doubled down on their investment in audiophile headphones and have a pipeline with new products expected in all four of its categories in 2022.
The tech behind true wireless headphones and hearing aids will surely help the company in making better audio products and getting a lead position in the hearing segment. Even after the change in ownership, Sennheiser will continue to launch exciting technology innovations.
