Today, Realme announced the launch of two new smartphones Realme 9 5G and Realme 9 5G Speed Edition in India. Both the phones are joining the existing Realme 9 series. Realme 9 5G starts at Rs. 14999 and Realme 9 5G Speed Edition starts at 19,999.
Realme 9 5G features a 6.5-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate. The display also boasts up to 600 nits of brightness. The phone runs Android 11 with realme UI 2.0 out of the box. It packs Octa-Core MediaTek Dimensity 810 6nm processor with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The phone comes in two variants: 4+64GB and 6+128GB. Storage is also expandable up to 1TB. It supports Dynamic RAM Expansion (DRE) technology, which can add up to 5GB of virtual RAM.
The rear camera setup includes 48 megapixels primary camera, 2 megapixels black & white camera, and 2 megapixels macro camera. It also includes 16 megapixels selfie camera.
There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor in Realme 9 5G. Connectivity options include 5G SA/ NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, and USB Type-C. It packs a 5000mAh battery with a 33W Dart Charge fast charging.

The phone packs an octa-core Snapdragon 778G 6nm processor with Adreno 642L GPU. It is offered in 6GB and 8GB RAM options with 128GB of internal storage. Storage is also expandable up to 1TB. It also supports Dynamic RAM Expansion (DRE) technology that can add up to 5GB to the existing 8GB RAM.
The phone runs Android 11 with realme UI 2.0 out of the box.
