Oppo has today unveiled 150W SuperVOOC charging at MWC 2022 presentation. In tests, this 150W SuperVOOC charging can charge a photo with a 4,500 mAh battery from 1% to 50% in just 5 minutes. It takes 15 minutes in 100% charging. The older 65W charging needs around 40 minutes to get 100%.

The 150W SuperVOOC charger is slightly larger than the older 65W SuperVOOC adapter. The new charger supports the standard USB Power Delivery and PPS protocols.

The company has also introduced Battery Health Engine that uses a custom chip to manage the battery. Oppo claims that the battery will retain 80% of its capacity even after 1,600 complete charge cycles.

Oppo’s Battery Healing technology continuously repairs the SEI layer while the battery is charging and discharging. It protects the battery from degradation.

The first phone that supports a 150W charging system will be a OnePlus Phone scheduled for the April-June quarter.
