Twitter lets users create videos of up to 140 seconds long. Now the company is adding video playback speed controls to speed up or slow down video playback. The company is adding from .25x to 2x video playback speeds similar to what we find on YouTube, Netflix, and other platforms.

The tweet confirms that the company is testing video playback speed controls only on Android and the web. That means iOS users will have to wait for a few months to get this feature. The feature is being tested with select users and will be rolled out widely after the company is done testing it.

There will be a gear icon at the top of the video. Tapping on it will let you choose playback speed. It also adjusts the sound pitch.

Variable video playback options will be available on tweet videos, amplify videos, voice tweets, videos in DMs and video live replays.
