TCL has launched five new budget smartphones TCL 30 5G, TCL 30, TCL 30+, TCL 30 SE, and TCL 30 E at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2022. All these phones are priced under $300. These phones are already on sale. TCL 30 5G, TCL 30+, and TCL 30 are almost the same phone and feel like variants of the same. TCL 30 SE and the TCL 30 are the same.
TCL 30 5G, TCL 30+, and TCL 30
These phones have the same 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) AMOLED display and run Android 12 out of the box. TCL 30 5G packs MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC and 4GB RAM. TCL 30 and TCL 30+ feature a MediaTek Helio G37 SoC with 4GB of RAM. TCL 30 has 64GB storage, TCL 30+ has 128GB storage. The TCL 30 5G comes in 64GB or 128GB of onboard storage.
The camera setup is the same. There is a 50 megapixels rear camera, a 2 megapixels depth camera, and 2 megapixels macro camera. TCL 30 5G and TCL 30+ get a 13-megapixel sensor and TCL 30 features 8 megapixels selfie camera.
TCL 30 5G features 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth v5.1, NFC, and USB Type-C. TCL 30 and TCL 30+ include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5, NFC, and USB Type-C. The fingerprint sensor is on the side. These phones pack 5,010mAh batteries with 18W fast charging support. However, TCL 30 will be sold with a 10W charger in the box.
TCL 30 SE, TCL 30 E
TCL 30 SE and TCL 30 E are similar phones. TCL 30 SE, TCL 30 E come with 6.52-inch HD+ (720×1,600 pixels) IPS LCD display. TCL 30 SE has 2.5D curved glass and TCL 30 E has a flat display panel.
Both the phones pack MediaTek Helio G25 SoC. TCL 30E has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. TCL 30 E has 3GB of RAM with 64GB of storage.
The camera in TCL 30 SE is the same that we saw in TCL 30 5G, TCL 30+, and TCL 30. There is a 50 megapixels primary camera along with 2 megapixels depth camera and a 2 megapixels macro camera. TCL 30 E has a dual camera with 50 megapixels primary camera and 2 megapixels depth camera. TCL 30 SE has 8 megapixels selfie camera and TCL 30 E has 5 megapixels selfie camera.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port, and Wi-Fi direct. Both the phones pack a 5,000mAh battery. TCL 30 SE supports 15W fast charging but will be sold with a 10W charger. TCL 30 E supports 10W charging.
